SPA clubs have always been great places for people to relax and enjoy pleasant times. However, for the decoration materials, the high-humidity environment here is like a severe test. As a new type of decorative material, can 3D wall panels stand the test of time in the high-humidity environment of a SPA club? We conducted a large-scale waterproof performance test.
The 3D wall panels selected for this test are made of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) as the base material and treated with a UV coating on the surface. This type of wall panel is claimed to have excellent waterproof performance when it leaves the factory and is suitable for damp environments. We installed it in a SPA club that operates on a daily basis and focused on observing the durability of the wall panels in a high-humidity environment.
In the initial stage of installation, the surface of the wall panels is smooth and clean, and the joints are closely attached. During the first month of normal operation at the SPA club, although a large amount of water vapor was produced every day, especially near the steam room, no obvious abnormalities were observed at the joints of the wall panels. There were no water stains, mold or discoloration. This initially verifies the wall panel's ability to cope with high-humidity environments in a short period of time.
As time went by, by the third month, the SPA club experienced several peak business hours. The large number of guests used it, which led to an increase in both the duration and extent of the presence of steam. However, the joints of the wall panels remain in good condition. When touching the joint area by hand, there is no damp feeling, nor are there any signs of mold growth. This indicates that during this period, the waterproof performance of the wall panels was relatively stable, and the sealing at the joints was not significantly affected.
Half a year later, the usage frequency of the SPA club remained the same, and the joints of the wall panels still performed well. Neither visually nor by actual touch was any damage caused by moisture found. To further verify, we also carried out a simple cleaning of the joints of the wall panels and found that during the cleaning process, water did not seep into the interior of the joints, further proving the reliability of its waterproof performance.
A year has passed, but the joints of the wall panels in this SPA club still remain in good condition. There were no problems such as cracking, deformation, mold or discoloration. This fully demonstrates that in the high-humidity environment of a SPA club, the joints of this 3D printed wall panel have good durability.
Through this actual test tracking, we can draw the conclusion that this 3D printed wall panel with PVC as the base material and UV coating treatment on the surface can maintain good waterproof performance and durability for a long time at the joints in the high-humidity environment of the SPA club. For those operators who are concerned about the waterproof performance of the decoration materials for SPA clubs, such measured results undoubtedly provide a powerful reference. When choosing decoration materials for a SPA club, it is advisable to take into account this type of 3D printed wall panels with excellent waterproof performance. It is believed that they can maintain their beauty and practicality for a long time in the damp environment of the SPA club.
